by Kristina GarciaOne of our favorite things to do here at Babeland is to help men and their partners discover the pleasures of the prostate gland (or the P-Spot). Aptly called "the male G-Spot" because of its ability to produce earth-shattering orgasms, the prostate is helping men of all ages and orientations take sexual satisfaction to new depths.
A New Approach
Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back for exploring the "P-Spot" (shorthand for the prostate). Stimulating the P-Spot involves anal play, so some folks are reluctant to try it because of cultural attitudes that paint it as "taboo" behavior. But if there's one thing we know as pleasure advocates, it's that all kinds of people enjoy all kinds of sex. Anal sex involves some of the most pleasurable sexual sensations that men and women, gay or straight, can experience. Everyone has an asshole, but men's assholes are extra-special because of the presence of the prostate gland!
Toys For Boys
An abundance of anal sex toys await you to help you discover the kind of P-Spot stimulation you like best. When shopping for a potential P-Spot toy, keep in mind that many G-Spot toys also make good prostate toys, and that a curve toward the tip is the key feature to look for.
- If you like pressure on your prostate, check out the Pandora. This smooth, soft silicone vibe slips easy into the anal canal and has a curved tip that's perfect for hitting the P-spot. Add a little extra oomph by turning on the vibration.
- The Aneros Plug is Babeland's most popular P-Spot toy and is designed to stimulate the prostate both internally via the plug, and externally via pressure on the perineum. It stays put all by itself and provides excellent prostate massage. Because of its ability to prolong erection and stave off ejaculation, the Aneros is a must-have for men who are learning to become multi-orgasmic.
- For vibrating fun, try the Naughty Boy. Made of easy-to-clean, heat-retaining silicone, this simultaneous prostate-and-perineum-stimulating toy comes with a removable vibrator.
- For couples interested in "pegging" (one partner wears a harness and dildo and anally penetrates the other), check out the Bend Over Beginner Kit, along with our own How to Bend Over Your Boyfriend tips. She'll look and feel great wearing the velvety harness, the small wireless vibrator, and one of the two silicone dildos.
Getting Started
- Go it Alone. We recommend that you fly solo for your initialprostate probe, so you are in total control of the pace and depth ofyour explorations.
- Relax and clean up. A warm shower with some added soapyattention to your butthole is a great way to relax and get into yourbody. It can also help lessen any apprehensions you may have aboutencountering feces, as will the use of a glove.
- Add lubricant. Once you?re ready, a nice thick lubricantlike Maximus or BabeLube and smooth fingernails are musts for successful prostatestimulation. Since the anus does not self-lubricate, you?ll want to usegenerous amounts of lube.
- Easy does it. With lube on your fingertip and your anus, press gently on your anus with the pad of your finger as you push out(as if you were going to the bathroom). Your sphincter muscles willrelax, and your finger should pop in.
- Explore. Once inside, curve your finger toward your bellybutton, and feel for a textured, ridged area about two to three inchesinside. Some folks liken the feel of the prostate to that of thesurface of a walnut.
- Experiment. Prostates enjoy a variety of sensations fromfirm pressure to rhythmic movement to vibrations, so try some differentmovements until you find your favorite.
- Add toys. Butt plugs and smooth dildos feel great on theprostate and can be easier to maneuver than your hand, so check outthese toys on the Babeland site or read on for more specificsuggestions.
- Add partners. Once you know what you like, it'll be that much easier to show your lover how to please you!
An Orgasm a Day!
An Australian study (the results of which were published in the August 2003 issue of the British Journal of Urology) concluded that men who masturbate on a regular basis between the ages of 20 and 50 are less likely to develop prostate cancer later in life. In fact, men who masturbate to ejaculation more than five times per week are a third less likely to develop the disease. Since prostate fluid can store carcinogens in addition to good things like potassium and zinc, regular ejaculation has a cleansing effect, since it's flushing out the bad and replacing it with the good. Just one more reason to take your pleasure into your own hands! For additional male-centered sex tips and information, check out this great book: The
Multi-Orgasmic Man, by Mantak Chia.
