2tue1This is from our Education Coordinator in Seattle, Audrey.I think this was the best 2Tue yet! Sure the first night back in August we had lots of people here for the burlesque show, but last night people were walking around from shop to shop, getting their punch card stamped and checking out ALL the art and events. There were big groups of people walking up and down the street from place to place. At one point a group of 15 came in carrying plastic cups of wine from other shops. There are 3 shops on our block that participate in the art walk so I think we might have had the most people, but a friend of mine went to all the galleries and shops and said there were about 10-15 people at most of the other places when he was there. Babeland had a Burlesque show and people really loved to see a show in the store. We did a routine every 15 minuets, so people would sit and watch and hoot and holler and then when it was over, they would hang out and shop for a bit and wait for the next act before moving on down the street. And who were they here to see? Well, I'm very proud to say that we had Seattle?s own, Elsa Von Schmaltz and Pigeon Von Tramp from The Von Foxies performing just for 2Tue revelers and Babeland shoppers! We also had Atlanta Summer grace the Babeland stage once again. Oh!2Tue2And when I say stage, I mean Christmas lights taped to the floor in front of the flogger display. It is really very nice. If you weren?t here last night you missed out on Pigeon?s routine to Bert?s (of Bert and Ernie) song Doin? the Pigeon. It was Soooo cute and made me remember watching Sesame Street which was a little wrong since I was watching a burlesque show but she didn?t take her clothes off so it wasn?t too wrong. And I cracked up at Elsa Von Schmaltz?s routine to Oink Oink (is that the name of the song?) anyway, I?m not going to tell you what was so funny because you should go see their show this Saturday and see for yourself ? but it really was hilarious. The whole night was a lot of fun despite the rainy windy yucky-ness that was going on outside. In fact, I don?t think any of the folks on the art walk even cared about the weather all the folks that stayed home really missed out I gotta say. So if you don?t want to miss out again, be here for 2Tue next month to check out a sexy fashion show at Babeland and who knows what else at all the other stops along the art walk!2Tue3lick\u003d\"return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)\">audrey@babeland.com",1] ); //--> Sesame Street which was a little wrong since I was watching a burlesque show but she didn?t take her clothes off so it wasn?t too wrong.
